It's all about hanging on
17 year old female
When I was 12 years old I started self-harming myself. It was a terrible experience and I couldn't deal with the pain of life anymore. Some people may find it distressing to hear this but it's reality for alot of teens.
At the age of 16 I was admitted into hospital due to self harm. My mum sent me into the hospital hoping to get my perception on life figured out. It didn't work. To work on your own perception of life starts with yourself. The way I was thinking was not right, and being in hospital made me realise that. I spoke to many counsellors about what was going on, and letting everything out in the open made my life much happier.
The moral of this story is: no matter what happens, don't be afraid to tell your parents or someone you really trust because keeping everything bottled up inside is not just hurting you, but hurting everyone around you. Life works out itself. You will all be happy eventually in life. It's all about hanging on :)
