Diagnosed with OCD

16 year old male

diagnosed with OCDAll my life I knew I was different. I would never want to be with my friends or family, just my pets, and I would make up imaginary animals and people who were my friends. When I got to the age of 6-7 I would get mad when things didn't go right.

I would also record every number important to me and then I would remember those numbers. My favourite number is 7 so I would do everything 7 times. I would eat at a specific time, go to the bathroom at a specific time and sleep at a specific time. If I changed my schedule, I would not only get mad, I would feel sick, lose my appetite and not be able to sleep.

I saw counsellors as a child and I would never tell them the truth about my thoughts and schedule because I could not handle talking about personal problems in real life.

I went onto the Kids Helpline Web Counselling page and spoke to a nice person. They convinced me that the best thing for me is to see a doctor or counsellor in real life. I asked my puppy and she thought I should too, so I saw a counsellor.

I was diagnosed with OCD and other social issues. I have gotten better since then, with medication and other things. I do not get as angry if my schedule is broken these days but I still like the number 7.
