My mate was doing drugs and I was worried

I rung Kids Helpline when I didn't know what to do to help my mate who was doing drugs. He was taking heaps of different drugs. I sort of tried to talk to him about it, then he started to hide what he was doing. That made me feel like I'd stuffed up.
The Kids Helpline counsellor made me feel okay because I recognised his problem and had the guts to say something. He helped me see that there was only so much I could do and that I couldn't be responsible for his actions. I knew my mate's parents had been talking about separating and I thought that might be the real problem.
I thought if I could get him to tell me what was stressing him out, he might feel like he could talk to me about why he was taking drugs. I wanted him to know he was still my mate and I wanted to help him not ruin his life. So I asked Kids Helpline where he could get more help.
