Christmas

What could I talk about?

Below are some questions to think about that might help you when you talk about any Christmas worries.

  • What happened that you didn't like and what could be done to help make things better this year?
  • What did you like about other Christmas' that you would like to see happen again this year?
  • What is planned for Christmas this year? If you know what's happening well before Christmas Day, it will give you more time to let people know if you are worried about anything
  • How would you like Christmas to be this year? This could include where you would like to spend Christmas Day, what you would like to eat or a present you would like. Remember, you may not get everything you want, but at least others will know your thoughts and ideas
  • If your family is from a non-Western culture, what does Christmas mean or not mean for your family, and what does that feel like for you?

What can make Christmas Day more fun with the family

  • Play games at home such as cards or board games
  • Go down to the park to play a game or kick a ball around
  • Help mum or dad to cook something you like
  • Make name tags for everyone or Christmas decorations
  • Design colourful place mats for the table
  • Go for a walk to a favourite place
