Being You

All bodies are special

Sometimes kids have bodies that work differently to other people's bodies. Some kids are blind, some can't hear, others are in wheel chairs or only have one hand, others have asthma. All sorts of things can make kids different from each other.

Remember we are all different

being-youThose kids often have to be extra clever just to do everyday things. So they need to build up other skills and sometimes get some extra help. For example, kids that can't see might have a 'seeing eye dog' or a cane to help them. Maybe next time you see someone whose body works differently to yours you could stop and think about what it might be like for them. Think of the clever skills that they would need to develop to do the activities that you take for granted.
