Optus
Optus has been proudly supporting Kids Helpline for 14 years. Since 1999, Optus and Kids Helpline have been creating exciting and innovative ways to help kids stay connected and access support.
Optus was instrumental in establishing Kids Helpline's online counselling service - the world's first real time online counselling service. Globally, demand for online services continues to grow as more young people use web-based services as key ways of accessing information and being socially connected. The Kids Helpline online services now account for almost a quarter of all counselling sessions.
Make cyberspace a better place campaign
We have joined forces with our partner Optus to help schools around Australia tackle cyber safety with the launch of a new education pack.
Australian students live in a digital world and whilst this world is an amazing source of entertainment, information and connection, they need to learn how to avoid the dangers of its misuse.
Over 10,000 primary and secondary schools across Australia have received a FREE education pack which includes half hour lesson plans suitable for years, 4-6 (Online Safety and Cyberbullying - Introduction), Years, 7-9 (Cyberbullying - Advanced) and Years 10-12 (Sexting)
Each pack contains a USB stick with all of the material uploaded, lesson plans and video content covering the aforementioned key issues.
